CANADA RECENT IRCC RELEASE

• As the local unemployment has increased in Canada, IRCC has taken a decision to reduce the number of low wages workers. This can affect Indians working on temporary jobs. Out of total international students 40% are Indian.

• Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has ended a temporary public policy that allowed visitors to apply for a work permit from within Canada, effective immediately.

• There will be a restriction on Post Graduate work permit.

• Changes in Spousal Work Permit, which will not be easy to get onwards. 

• Now the immigrants can apply for Open Work Permit, provided they have a support letter from the Province and Job Offer from the Employer.

• The Senate Committee has also recommended shutting down the Temporary Foreign Worker Programs. 

• IRCC has indicated more changes could be coming by the end of this year. 

• The Liberal Government is likely to introduce policies aimed at appealing to the Canadian electorate. 

• In the coming Fall Season, Canada will release Immigration plans & Strategies for next 3 years Immigration Policy.
